The Big Feast…

...on the last day of our build.

Initial plan was to have a BBQ (entire goat) by the river but it was changed due to the bad weather.

Preparation starts around lunch time and glad we didn’t witness any killing / skinning process.

Couldn't stand being an onlooker, our supervisors sharpen their knives and joined in.

Curious? Our first reaction was to whip out our cameras.

Its funny how our ‘Very Cool’ supervisors suddenly glow with excitements and can’t stop grinning.

Yes indeed we had heavy downpour that evening and so the riverside BBQ became an indoor feast in the Ger. The night’s feast is called Khorkhog – meat cooked in metal milk container with vegetables (cabbage & potatoes) and stones.

Before we could dig in to our meal, we were handed the stones from the milk can to rub between our hands – it is thought to have some healing effects. But its too hot that we were practically throwing it between our hands.

I’m amazed how they finish up until the bone was so clean and never waste any parts even the fats that we tried to leave at the side of our plates.

Presented new PPE to our supervisors and they happily put them immediately… it was hilarious.

A night of beer, vodka, good food, great company & hospitality… what a night to remember.

There was more for Ajit, the lucky man who is popular with Mongolian women! Oops.
